Existing identity fraud prevention products are struggling to keep pace. Consumer products are reactive, and fraudsters continue to evolve tactics to bypass your identity verification processes.
JustMe provides you with an added layer of security in your onboarding journey, so you know the genuine owner of the identity is applying, stopping identity fraud in its tracks and protecting customers.
With identity fraud costing the UK £1.8 billion annually and continuing to rise, JustMe offers a proactive solution, putting identity protection directly into consumers’ hands, adding an additional layer of protection to product applications.
To prevent fraudulent registrations to the mobile app, robust identity verification steps are in place. Registrations will be checked against the National Fraud Database (NFD).
JustMe matches application data with identity records and sends a mobile notification to the genuine owner, allowing them to confirm or stop the application.
Integration is with Cifas’ Gateway API that enables a single call to JustMe, the National Fraud Database and future Cifas databases returning a single response to your organisation.
Embed the JustMe Check at any stage of your onboarding checks. Customise when notifications are sent to the consumer and more.
If you already use identity verification during onboarding, JustMe adds an extra layer of protection by involving the genuine identity owner. This allows them to confirm whether they are actually applying, helping you make more confident decisions—especially in borderline or suspicious cases. JustMe also provides consistent verification across all channels and products, even where traditional ID&V checks aren’t deployed.
We’re currently gathering feedback from our members to prioritise the most valuable data points. One example is the length of time a user has been registered with JustMe. If someone signs up to JustMe the same time as applying for with you, that could be critical information you need to make a decision. We're keen to hear what information would be most useful to you.
We’re developing strategies to encourage consumer adoption in the near future—starting with users of our Protective Registration service and victims of data breaches. These individuals are ideal early adopters, as JustMe empowers them to take control of their identity. We’re also exploring integrations with banking and credit reference agency apps to expand reach and other features in the app consumer will use such as scam protection.
Protective Registration makes lenders aware that an applicant may be at risk of identity fraud, prompting extra checks. However, it’s difficult to scale. JustMe is a mobile app that notifies users in real time when credit is applied for in their name, allowing them to confirm or deny the application with a simple tap.
Integration is via API, contact the JustMe to find out more about this
Yes. JustMe is suitable for any organisation offering products or services to consumers—whether credit-related or not—and looking to confirm the identity of the applicant directly with the genuine identity owner.
Robust identity verification checks will be in place during JustMe registration to ensure only the true identity owner can sign up. We're still refining this process and welcome your input to help shape it.
Yes. Scams and identity fraud are closely linked. JustMe can help prevent fraudsters from using stolen personal information by notifying the real person when credit is applied for in their name. This creates a “stop and think” moment, helping users avoid being coerced or tricked into approving fraudulent applications.
We’re developing a commercial model to cover operational costs. As a not-for-profit, our goal is to prevent identity fraud—not profit from it. There may be integration or consumer-facing costs, and we’d love your input as we shape our pricing strategy.
Initially, yes. We’re launching with an iOS app as our MVP (minimum viable product). However, we’re exploring other notification channels, such as banking and credit reference agency apps, to maximise reach and ease of use.
This is part of our future roadmap. For now, we’re focusing on launching the JustMe app as the first phase.
We’re designing multiple safeguards, such as carefully worded notifications, to help users recognise potential coercion. The data returned to you can also help flag suspicious activity, allowing you to take further action if needed. We welcome collaboration on this—please reach out if you'd like to contribute to this development.
